Steampunk Overseas and What Is Chap-Hop: Professor Elemental’s Take on Everything Steamy and Victorian

When BtS sat down at their respective professional interview stations (a bathtub?? Yes, really) to speak with a certain steampunk chap hop artist several times zones ahead of us, we were caught off guard by the utter lunacy and energetic hilarity of the tea-sipping gentleman on the far end of the Skype line.

Hailing from Brighton, England, Professor Elemental claims he just likes to rap – and when you combine his manic talent with his own type of jungle-adventurer steampunk style, a charming sort of insanity, and humorous titles such as his popular “Cup of Brown Joy” and “Fighting Trousers,” (complete with a rivalry with a fellow chap-hop artist) – you can hardly go wrong.

What else can we say? The Professor simply did not stop, had us rolling around with laughter, and at times even interviewed us! (Listen for the part where he finds out Alyssa really works with cloning in the lab…)

This is an interview that simply must be listened to to believe…and we promise, talking with Professor Elemental was a jolly good time from start to finish. So put on your podcast-listening trousers, grab a cup of brown joy, and enjoy the show!  (Disclaimer:  PG-13)

  • There was a weird audio mishap in the beginning of the podcast but the Professor’s response to it was just so funny that we left it in.
